Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso

Type: red

Alcohol: 12% vol.

Vintage: a blend of different refined vintages, some in small oak barrels for 24 months, and some in stainless steel tanks, this in order to express better the distinctive character of the grape.

Variety: Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso
Planting system in simple cordon, yielding 3,100 storks per hectare with a production of about 60,000 kg/ha. Soil: medium mixture.

Vinification: the harvest of Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is usually conducted towards the end of September. The grape is fermented in stainless steel tanks, followed by maceration at a temperature of 24-26°C. The whole process lasts about 10-14 days.

Maturation: in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels for about 24 months.

Colour: intense ruby red with violet hues.

Bouquet: rich in ripe red fruits, most notably raspberry and blackberry.

Taste: well structured, full body, dry and persistent.

Best with: roasted red meat, stews and medium cheeses.
